Security CD - Step 1: McAfee VirusScan
First, we need to run a virus scan on your computer to find and remove any malware on your computer, specifically viruses and trojans. The program we're going to use is McAfee VirusScan: a free, self contained, on-demand virus scanner. This will clean your computer so we can continue through all the steps. However, this is a one time virus scanner, it does not prevent viruses from infecting you in the future, it just scans and cleans your computer the moment you run it. In addition, it does not install onto your computer, it runs from this CD. Also, you can not update this program to catch new viruses after this CD was made. Later on (in Step 3) you'll get information on how to find and install Anti Virus software than will keep you continually protected.

Once you start the VirusScan, you will see the program as pictured below.
This will search for and identify any viruses it finds on your computer. It will report everything it finds in the window. When it finds a virus, it will first attempt to clean the infection, then delete the virus. When it finishes, the window will automatically close and you can click Next.
